[AlpacaTalk] Super news-Home from Iraq

Hi everyone. Carol and I will be in Colorado Springs from this
Saturday through the following Thursday. Our son is on his way home
from Iraq. Once he arrives, he will go the the "coming home"
ceremony and then be released for 72 hours. What a Christmas
present!!!

On another note, thanks to everyone that has donated to the alpaca
blanket project. It is (so far) on schedule. We still need several
thousand pounds of blanket fiber. See details on the Alpaca Blanket
Project page of our website. Thank you all and we wish you a
pleantiful season and new year. Very exciting. We will be posting
more to the website when things slow down a bit around here. We are
dealing with a few too many things right now.

Our product business is still for sale at a reduced price of
$48,000. Net last year was over $20,000 and about the same this
year. There is currently over $20,000 in cost of live inventory.
The business income is fairly well split between Wholesal, Retail,
store (at our farm), and from sales at the four shows we do each
year. If someone were to spend some time actually following the
leads (for wholesale) that have come in in the last couple months,
we figure that would bring in another $5-8,000. Also, if the
purchaser of the business were to do more of the holiday shows,
again, there would be a siginificant increase in annual income. We
have run out of available time between the two of us and wish to
focus our efforts on the Alpaca Blanket Project. Your raw fleece
(hopefully cleaned) will be sorted and graded by Carol and Pete (me)
and American-made alpaca blankets will be available back to those
that have contributedd.

A couple other areas in our lives that are currently taking extra
time are: Caretaking my Mother-In-Law (Mom to me) that has just
been taken off Kemo and is now on Hospice. Another is prep for our
other son that has just received word that he will be going to Iraq
in April. Another is that we are soon to be grandpartents again and
our daughter would like to be married outside at our home-much to
prepare for the wedding. With all this and more, we are VERY
motivated to sell and are willing to negotiate for the sale of our
product business which has the largest alpaca product store in the
Pacific Northwest.

If you would like to contact us in Colorado, or could meet, we have
some room and weight limit left in our luggage to transport some
fleece (preferrably shrink wrapped) back home to use for the blanket
project. We can be reached at 503-949-2027.

Thank you all for a great year and have a wonderful holiday.
