Thanks to everyone who has answered on this thread. I will try plastic sheeting when rolling and I have cleaned it up as much as I dare, leaving the white edges…just a hint here and there as most of her white is tummy or armpit because the blanket comes well down on the sides. So, that leaves just a "collar" worth at the neck and up over the tail set, but it is pinto. Now, let us hope that this fleece has some competitive value. It is always nice to have an opinion from outside of the pasture; it is too easy to become "barn blind" when working with the animals daily!

While I definitely would try to remove as many second cuts as possible, I wouldn't worry too much about the cross contamination of colors. The judges can tell the difference, for example, between white strands sticking to the surface of the darker color (from folding and rolling the fleece) as opposed to white strands growing through or mixed into the darker color (true color "contamination"
