Re: [AlpacaTalk] Re: Other alpaca discussion groups
A few years ago Rick started moderating my posts, and I asked him why
he didn't approve a particular post, he told me he didn't have time to
"babysit" and review the posts from members he's put on "moderate."
Huh? That's what "moderate" is for! BS. So I don't post there anymore.
I joined under a different userid and snuck some in but I felt that was
stupid. If the post didn't have my name attached to it, it was fine.
Pfft.
The problem is: If a moderator doesn't like you, forget it. On the
other discussion group (not on yahoo) I told the moderator she was
wrong in the way she dealt with Ken Madl after he posted the court
records from the LoL suit. After that, she finds problems with every
post of mine. Before this, she was my buddy. Now, she claims to have
received numerous complaints from a wide variety of members when she
never did before. I find that a bit odd. She claims that I violate just
about every forum rule. Before I told her she was wrong, I never did.
Also odd.
The problem is the moderators. They think they are infallible and their
opinions are the only correct ones. Here is an email from one of the
moderators on that forum:
"You are treading on VERY THIN ice here. The corrective actions of a
moderator are not to be questioned, ridiculed, etc. in the open forum.
If you have an issue with the actions taken by a moderator (which most
are a collective from the three of us) you need to contact the
administrator with your complaint. I have removed both your and
Judith's edits. Take the comments to heart. The forum rules are clear
and any further harassment of the moderators will most likely result in
your membership suspension and/or removal."
I have yet to see where I have harassed anyone, let alone a moderator.
I disagree, and I think it's not inappropriate to be able to voice
disagreement. That's what a forum is.

On that other "forum" also, advertising is not allowed yet in Watt can
advertise his service all day long, guilt us if we may send our samples
to another lab, and then tell us his service is the only good one, and
if you use another lan you're probably dishonest. Yet my family and I
are not permitted to speak about our feed. I have an email requesting
that I not discuss it further if someone starts a new thread on alpaca
feed. Yet Ian can rant and rave about my sister and I personally, and
"retaliate" against us, his words, and his posts are not edited for
appropriate content, nor to remove advertising content. That is also
odd, and not treating all forum members equally. I have a problem with
that.
