Yes, it has been suggested that AOBA provide an online listing but it was
argued down....

It still makes sense to me to provide the listings on-line and let the folks
print out what they desire out of it. For those with out computers (and
those are few) provide a way for them to order (and charge for it) a printed
version. The money spent on the programing would be WAY less and WAY more
convenient than the printing and shipping of hard copies. Not to mention
that as a buyer I can narrow down my searches to particular farms that have
what I am looking for.

I must admit though, that on AlpacaNation, I tended to pass by those farms
that did not have a link to a personal website... A personal farm website
gave me (as a very timid newbie) a chance to get a feel for the farm, what
they might offer and what they were about before I ever contacted them.

Hello All,
I have been new to the industry, recently purchased my first alpaca's last
month. I am not a member of AOBA or Alpaca Nation BUT I did do my research,
got the book from AOBA and compared to Alpacanation I must say it was not as
good as alpaca nation. After visiting more farms from alpacanation I made
my decision from there. There were very few farms close to myself in the
book I received compaired to the web sites on alpacanation. Plus
alpacanation did have more information on the farms, sales, services, ect.
I printed a list and I had over 10 farms within 100 miles of my location.
Perspective from a new farm, alpacanation was the best for myself. More
listings, more information and easy access.
Just thought you may want to know how a new farm got it's resources and
information.
I am looking forward to a life with my alpaca's soon, still being
boarded:(
