Free Alpacas Newsletter- How to Profit from Alpaca Farming

Re: [Alpacasite] Re: Pet quality or fiber quality?

When I was about 11or12 we had a small dairy farm and all 37 cows and the
resident bull had names. When calves were born a truck came and took them
away a day or so after they were born so I had little chance to name them,
get attached or really think about exactly where they were going. All was
going well until "Clownie" fell and broke her hip. She was butchered and put
in our freezer. I would eat no more meat until I saw that all those packages
were gone. It wasn't that I didn't eat meat, I just didn't eat my friends,
she had a name. And that's where we are going to get into some serious
trouble, with cows, there are VERY few pets, whatever is not useful is
called dinner. Anybody watch the movie "Babe"? Now, if we could just teach
our non-breeder/pet quality/fiber gelding alpacas to be "sheep-pacas" ....

Have a Good Day All!
