[AlpacaTalk] Re: white spot

If it's an injury and you have no alpaca vet a horse vet can treat the eye.  We've had several eye injuries on the farm....both horses and alpacas.   But the eye needs to be treated asap before infection kills the little thing.  Eye injuries and infections are extremely serious.
We've had to have the plasma drops made for serious eye injuries.....a horse vet can do that if no alpaca or goat vet is handy.  Vet will likely do a blood draw from mama and spin out the plasma to make the drops.  They are very effective.
You should be able to determine fairly easily if it is a blind spot by testing sight on that side.    I had an alpaca lose vision in one eye due to injury, luckily we were able to save the eye (with diligent care) and avoid expensive surgery to remove.   She did lose vision however, but continued on just fine until her death many years later.
Good luck!
