I keep my males at one side of the farm and females on the other.Even gelded males can breed the female and cause infections that can damage or kill the female.They just can't get the female pregnant......

I think you will have this problem as long as you have a female in the group. He is not protecting his "daughter" anymore. He considers her one of his herd and the boys are intruding on his girl. Are the boys all gelded? If you separated the female from the group the boys may settle down. Usually the males and females are kept separate if more than one male is in the group. The new boys are intruders and he is protecting what was his first. You may need to try and put her in another area and get her a female friend. When just one of each there wouldn't be a problem, but more than one boy will usually always cause problems of dominance.
Glad to hear they are doing well otherwise. :)

Subject: [AlpacaTalk] Need advice please
As some of you may remember, I adopted 2 alpacas during the winter. (our first ones) "Johnny had menegeal worm a few years back so he walks crooked, somewhat disabled. He knows he is like that so he is a bit more timid. His daughter "Anabelle" has been a feisty curious lil girl from the start.
We adopted 3 more alpacas from Endless Farm and they are simply precious.Very social boys, I just love them! Before adopting them I spoke with Endless Farms and explained in detail about our current alpacas and how we needed to have non aggressive alpacas to adopt. The new boys have been home now over a week. They are sweet and very social BUT our Johnny has been a bit bossy with them. (shocker)He will not let them near the barn or anywhere near his daughter Annabelle. We have given it some time and tried separating the overhang of the barn so that they can get on one side, away from Annabelle and Johnny and get the use of the fan and shade.
Johnny likes to hang around them daily and relax with them, leaving is daughter Annabelle alone. (not sure if she really feels lonely or not) My main concern is that my sweet gentle JOhnny is being a bit of a bully it seems. The spitting has stopped and the yelling at the 3 boys but he still refuses to let them under the overhang. They still aren't allowed under it!
Today we had a lot of rain and the boys are all wet. (now I'm not happy) This needs to stop. What can I do? I was thinking of corralling Johnny in the 10x10 area under the overhang so to allow the boys time to roam free under and around there and Johnny can see they are fine with his daughter. Will this work? What should I do? I want them to live together happily.
There is no fighting or any naughty,mean behavior . Its just Johnny being bossy. (and rude)
