RE: [AlpacaTalk] Flies making me nuts.....
I had forgotten in my younger days....and that was a LONG time ago! Mom used one in the enclosed patio area. We had a parakeet that had gotten loose and she flew right into it and it was a horrible thing. We pulled so many feathers out of that poor bird trying to free her from it. It leaves a gooey sticky on the feathers too. We got it on our hands too. :(

We have used them for several years. They work well and never caught a bird, just nasty flies, ocassional moths, wasps.

The sticky tape about which I'm talking is a narrow twine-size tape - so narrow there's almost no room for flies. We are not privileged to have barn swallows - we have LOTS of sparrows and finches - and we've NEVER had a bird stuck on this tape.
I really do highly recommend it.

Jan,
My issue with the sticky tape is that barn swallows get stuck on it and cannot extricate themselves.
