Hi Maria,
I am no expert and have only had alpacas since 2008. I also have goats. I think there are definitely differents trains of thought. Some say not to because goats are known for being parasite magnets. Others say yes, because many parasites are species specific. I think it comes down to what you want to do and how on top of parasite control you can be.
I have miniature dairy goats but I don't graze them with the alpacas. The reason may seem trivial, but I don't want the alpacas spitting on them. The worst is at feeding time and the alpacas can be so gluttony with spitting at each other and since the goats don't spit, nor have horns, I feel they have an unfair advantage. Plus they are smaller than the alpacas.
I do graze my goats with a horse, though!
