[AlpacaTalk] New to the Alpaca Biz...

 

Hi .. my name is Deb and I'm an Alpaca Owner! ;-)
I have lots of questions but none in particular right now. Just wanted to introduce myself to hopefully network and learn more about what I've purchased and how to do things with my Alpaca "the right way". I have a white huacaya 12yr old mom, her 1yr old female cria (black with a beautiful white face)and a new cria on the way in December. I've been told to THINK PINK.

I am currently trying to clean my cria's fiber from her 1st shear and some of the tips I've read on here have really been helpful and drrr I will look up some You Tube videos. My son is You Tube crazy and learns so much from it. You would have thought I would be just as smart and do the same. Anyways.. hoping to have enough fiber for my mom to make something out of it. How much does it usually take to make a sweater, hat, scarf type thing? I think I have about 3lbs raw.
