[AlpacaTalk] RE: alfalfa hay

 

Janice,

Chicken scratch has WAY too much corn in it. Corn sugars cause digestive issues in alpacas.
The reason why feed companies have developed alpaca feed is because of the research behind the formulation.
There are some fine companies who have worked in conjunction with camelid veterinarians in order to provide an good balance of food stuffs.
Feed them these feeds, just not so much. ;)
I would avoid the chicken scratch.
