All my animals grow less winter fleece when the winter is warmer.  My horses didn't even get a winter coat at all this year, nor did they shed.  Our temps can reach 120 degrees here in summer.  I have noticed a difference in fleece weight from the time our alpacas were purchased in colder climates to the next time they were shorn here.  Why would they be any different from any other animal?

Interesting Susan - what are your facts?  I have heard many times from breeders that insist this is true, I have my doubts.  While it may be intuitive that fleece grows less in warmer temps, (BTW what is the definition of warmer?) I'm not yet convinced,
