[AlpacaTalk] RE: Dog Blankets

Jim - you measure from the middle of the chest along the side to the
tail. These xxxl dog blankets are huge! They are for 44-49" and
waterproof. It is just the "belly band" that may not work on your mini
horses/donkey. But like I said I feel that can be easily enough
altered. The shipping was "free", but the handling charge was $6.50.
I checked "ground" for shipping, but it arrived the 2nd day by Fed Ex.
I was most pleased. Also I went to one of the coupon sites and found a
10% off coupon that worked - WCRP8.

<<<Hi Janice, The first year I had alpacas I spent more than double for
a few tiny cria coats. The ones I bought from Big Dee's (dog coats) the
next year were just as nice. Now that you've bought from them and they
have your email address you should get notice of all thier specials. I
have bought the dog coats for $12.95 3 years in a row and try to spread
the word. I'll let you know just in case when I get notice. It's usually
in early spring.

Flossie>>>>

I too have a very expensive cria coat!! About $50 as I recall. When
I order more I am going to order a smaller one just in case I ever have
more than one cria at a time. Which this morning just became an
unfortunate liklihood. We went out to feed only to find the gate
separating Boy Blue from mama and yearling open :-(. He has really
been flirting mama Lucy up the past few weeks. I had wanted to wait at
least till March, better still April to let them together. Guess he
had other plans. Lucy was on his side of the gate, but the yearling
was still in the main pasture; but no way to know who went where
overnight. I am thinking that he is so enarmoured of Lucy, in fact he
pays no attention whatsoever to my other adult female, that hopefully he
was not interested in his dtr, Merry Morning. Lucy has also been
quite enarmoured of him the past several weeks as well. Watching them
flirt at the fence is cute as can be. In fact she has been mounting
her dtr, Merry. Is that common?

Sure hope next late Jan/early Feb is not as nasty as this one has been
as I will be expecting a baby.......hopefully only one.

Janice in NW GA where it is once again raining, but we had a perfect
week-end for a change so I cannot complain. Got everybody wormed,
pastures cleaned up, able to get 4 big rolls of hay in here; it was
great to finally get out - worked like a dog for 3 straight days and
still did not get to my fruit tree pruning which was my my goal for the
week-end, just too far behind on everything else.
