[AlpacaTalk] Processing fiber question

 

Hi everyone!

New alpaca owner as of July of this year, three gelded boys (fiber hobby operation). I have a question about getting your fiber processed. I actually enjoy doing the carding/combing of the fiber myself (since I decide which I'm going to do based on how I'm using the fiber) but what I don't enjoy, of course, is washing the fiber.

I would love to be able to send all my bags of fleece out just to have them washed and returned. Do any processors actually do just that step, or do I have to have the fiber washed AND combed/carded into roving, etc.?
