RE: [AlpacaTalk] New Cria!!

 

            Congratulations on your new little girl!  How exciting.  Our first was last November and I remember feeling so protective of her.  A friend had recently lost five sheep and lambs to a stray dog.  I was feeling so vulnerable for her we went and got TWO Great Pyrenees.  Maxwell and Lucy have been the best!  I can move them from girls to boys pastures…..they stay with their herd and they let us know when anything is amiss.  Have you gotten any guardians since you lost your three girls?  Gelded llamas are supposed to be great, too.  We are actually bringing an 8 year old gelded llama home with weekend to be “referee” to our macho boys.  The dogs will stay with the girls and babies.

Thanks Robin. I just want to sit with her and make sure nothing bad happens to her. I lost 3 girls to dogs in May.
