[AlpacaTalk] Peruvian, Bolivian, Chilean differences

The reason I wanted to have alpaca came from my travels to Chile, Peru and Bolivia. I loved these dear animals from the moment I first encountered them.

Any way, I saw many herds in all three countries(all were magnificant) and talked with the herd owners as well as buyers. The animals breeders all claimed the stock from their country was the absolute best in the world. The sellers told me they buy and sell from from everyone so really there were no for example "pure" Bolivian alpacas as the herd sire may have come from Peru.

The person who stated that it is the port of sale that their origin comes from what I observed seems to be correct, all of the Alpaca I saw being shipped from Arica, Chile were labeled as Chilean even though there were buyers selling them had collected them from all over.

This is of course only my observation and there may very well be Sellers that do make sure there stock is labeled and sold as pure from their home country, on the other hand I never met a rich alpaca breeder in all my travels in South America.
