Ah, the ARI question I can answer! :) You are a member simply by
owning registered alpacas. But, to have unrestricted search
capabilities in the database, and maybe some other benefits possibly,
you do need to be a "supporting" member or whatever they call it. For
me, the ARI membership dues are worth it, since I do search the
database a lot! Now that I think of it, though, it does seem just
just another fee, our orgs are nickel and diming us to death!

Oh right, it's time to pay up our dues again.
