[AlpacaTalk] Re:RESCUE ALPACA WITH SEIZURES... anyone ever dealt with this??

Hi Vida:

It might be a thiamine deficiency. We have a girl that we also got from a small herd who has to get a shot every other week. We didn't quite understand it until we missed the shot once, within that week she went into a seizure exactly like you are describing. very scary. You can check with your vet and see what he/she thinks about it. I know my vet has no problem with those shots at all. thinks it is very good protocul. And with her every other week shots - we have never had a problem since. and she hasn't passed it on to any of her cria. It's really not a scary thing - if this is the problem.

good luck and let us know.
