Re: [AlpacaTalk] aborted twins - 96 days gestation
hi Heather - so sorry to hear of your loss - we lost black twins form our pretty black girl in early summer and it was such a sad experience
question: the sire you mentioned, Scirocco - does he live in Canada? I have a girl bred to Arbutus Ridge Scirocco and i'm wondering if it is the same sire. - this girl is due at the end of this month and it is a worry for me as our weather has already gotten much colder - she was already bred when i bought her but i'm going to make sure there are no more fall births here. - i'd rather hold her over til spring

Hey everyone! My new true black girl who was bred to Scirocco aborted
twins today. Sucks, lost 3 months and now if I re-breed this year, I'll
have a fall cria next year, something I prefer to avoid. I like spring
and summer births here in always cold and rainy Oregon! One fetus was
clearly male and the other couldn't really tell because it had been
stepped on in the stall. Except for being stepped on and a bit
dismembered, both fetuses appeared to be normal. So cute and tiny!
