Re: [AlpacaTalk] RE: Teeth

Ahhhhh, the tooth-a-matic!
used to think they were a gag, but they're real! Here's a

Marquette sell them and I think he makes them or designed them --
could be wrong on that last part. Anyway, I've seen them work and
they're fabulous -- pricey, about $200.00, and I don't own one, but
wonderful tools. When my herd gets bigger and I have snaggle toothed
animals, I'll invest. Currently, my guys all have good teeth, so
don't really need one. AND the shearer now carries one with him for
us folks that don't have enough animals to justify buying our
own. If you can borrow one, that would be a very good thing if
you've got teeth to get down. If I had one, I'd loan it to you,
but.........
As for your fences with rough places. I would agree that an animal
would likely not inflict anything too painful unless it was quite by
accident....
away. Animals are known for getting themselves in trouble that we
can't imagine. Had a dog impale his leg on a piece of plasticized
and rounded metal fencing material....
squirrel and rammed right into it. Barely missed a major blood
vessel and luckily didn't even bleed that bad. It did require a few
staples and a doggie hood to keep him from tearing them out. So I've
seen first hand the stupid things they can do, unintentionally.
Anyway, hope you look up the tooth-a-matic! If nothing else, it's an
interesting tool and quite useful. Hope you can find someone to
borrow from since they are quick and I'm sure, painless.
Keep us posted!! and hope all clears with your girls face and eyes!
Susan
PS Don't get too soft with the rooster -- my guess his he's another
accident waiting to happen......
