Re: [AlpacaTalk] 6.8 lb cria 4 days past due Help!
I had an 11.5 lb little boy just about 3 weeks ago. Mom also had very little milk right after he was born. I kept milking he about every 2 hours and now she is like a cow. I believe that sometimes the milk is not there right after birth but does come in. I would keep trying to milk Mom. I also found that my boy did not take more then an ounce and a half at a time. You have to look at the size of the cria and think what his stomach would be like. I do not think my little guy was able to get more then that in his stomach in the beginning. He is still not like a 3 week old cria but he progressing day by day. Hang in there.
I am not the vet but this is my experience with my little guy.
