[AlpacaTalk] Alpaca Research Foundation 2008 Super Stud Raffle

I do hope it is okay to post this to these lists, it is for a GREAT cause!

It's time for the Alpaca Research Foundation Super Stud Raffle 2008!!

Wow... that's all I can say about our stud line up this year! I am so excited to let everyone know who we are offering for our Super Stud Raffle males, I just can't stand it!

For our huacaya stud- 4Peruvian Legacy! Yes, that's right, the one and only Legacy.

Full name: 4Peruvian Legacy 6016
ARI #: 166559
2007 AAA Futurity Reserve Light Herdsire of the Year
2005 AAA Futurity Reserve Light Herdsire of the Year
2002 AAA Futurity Herdsire of the Year
Blue Ribbon Get of Sire Winner in 2002, 2004, 2005
Accoyo Peruvian Legacy is the 2002 AAA Futurity Herdsire of the Year, the 2005 AAA Futurity Reserve Light Herdsire of the Year and a Blue Ribbon Get of Sire winner in 2002, 2003, 2004 & 2005.

The 1/2 Interest in Legacy was sold for $750,000 making Legacy's market driven price worth 1.5 million dollars and therefore the first Million Dollar Alpaca.

His record and his excellence are undeniable. He single handedly transformed the Crescent Moon Ranch breeding program, rounded out the Alpacas of Maple Lane breeding program and made hugely significant contributions to the Snowmass Alpacas breeding program. His progeny includes some of the most visible alpacas in the North American Alpaca industry. Names such as Crescent Moon's Kryptonite, Crescent Moon's Romeo, Crescent Moon's Fiber Optic, Crescent Moon's Pinnacle, Snowmass Legacy Gold, Snowmass Perfection, Snowmass Legacy's Lustroso, Snowmass Millennium & many, many others . His name, on any certificate, adds immediate value and recognition and his name is now one of LEGEND.

Legacy is a magnificent male, true in all his phenotypical characteristics and proving himself with his strong genotype. Legacy's dominating presence and regal stature has left a rippling effect on the alpaca market by passing on many of his outstanding qualities to his offspring. In return, his offspring have adorned him with a plethora of blue ribbons and championships. Accoyo Peruvian Legacy offers substance of bone, fiber coverage, density and soft handling fleece with luster, uniform crimp and tremendous character.

Our heartfelt thanks to the following breeders for making this once in a lifetime opportunity happen:

And for our suri? Well, none other than Sirius Black! Bold and beautiful, that sums him up! We are extremely proud to be able to have Sirius in our raffle this year, his lineage speaks for itself, but just read this:

Sierra Bonita's Sirius Black is the full Peruvian Macgyver son who has a place of honor in our herd, number one next to his Sire. He is the most incredible black suri I have seen. True black, dense, lustrous, with locks completely independent at the skin. He is big boned, perfect bite, and lovely head. As a Juvenile, he won 1st and champion at the level 5 Great Western alpaca Show in Denver. 1st place at the Futurity, and 1st and reserve champion at AOBA National Conference. February. 2006 he won 1st place and Color Champion in Fort Worth Texas. He won 1st at the IAO in CA and on April 1st, won 1st and Color Champion in Puyallup WA. He won 1st and Reserve-Color Champion at the Futurity, 1st and Color Champion at MAPACA and 1st and Color Champion at PAOBA. Sirius finished his show season by winning 1st and National Black Color Champion in Kentucky at the AOBA National Conference. His Dam, Peruvian Starlette, has produced champion after champion, including Sirius's full siblings, Celestina, Synergy, Macgyverson and Guenivere. His sire, Macgyver has won "Herd Sire Of The Year" 5 years in a row. Sirius's first cria are here and are everything you would expect from a herd sire of this quality.

And our sincere gratitude to Sierra Bonita Alpacas for their most generous donation of this magnificent stud !
