[AlpacaTalk] response to Heather's request for information

Heather, you made the statement that the subsidiary was illegal and that
you had proof, not me.
My asking for proof was not meant to be an obnoxious question. It is a
serious one. If you have proof
like you claim that the subsidiary is illegal, please share it. If you
continue to claim you have proof but ignore the
request to provide it, I have no choice but to assume you have simply made
this up.

Re: AOBA lease on building in Tennessee. You have also probably figured out
by now that nothing is wrong
as you are already back peddling saying that the owner of the building
probably
got a nice tax write off. Anyway...so...you are upset because AOBA doesn't
pay money on a
lease? This is your conspiracy?? I'll be happy to answer your question
since it is something I do know something about.
I'll even give you more information than just the name of the owner of the
building that AOBA leases it's space from, although
the exact name of the company will have to wait until I can ask Jerry
tomorrow.

First of all, you are correct. AOBA pays NOTHING for it's leased space for
the building
in Tennessee. Absolutely nothing, zero! There is a multiple year lease (I
think it's 3 years) which charges AOBA NOTHING for
space. Here's the history as I recall Jerry telling me... A couple years
ago when AOBA decided to set up its own office, it had never had to pay
rent for space before because they always hired a company that had its own
office. (Hobarts
and AH). When faced with a lease expense for AOBA, my husband Jerry offered
AOBA FREE space for three (?) years at a building located in Nashville
owned by one of his companies
(mini storage, I believe) so that AOBA would have time to prepare for, and
budget for, a lease expense. AOBA doesn't even pay
for common space nor for parking. NOTHING! At the end of the three year
lease (I believe it's 3 years), AOBA
has to decide whether to stay and pay for space or move. Jerry signed a
multiple-year lease with
Jerry's company charging AOBA $0.00 and then he put the building up for
sale. It sold in 2007 after protracted
negotiations covering a long period of time (seemed a long time to me,
anyway). However, the written lease for $0.00 forced the new
owner of the building to honor the multiple-year, no income lease and
assured the membership the free
lease would continue for the duration of the lease. It also meant that
when Jerry
sold the building, he got a lot less for the building than he could have
because no owner/lessor wants to be
stuck with a building that has large rental space which doesn't bring in
income. The building
sold for a lot less than it probably could have sold for because of it. I
don't know the name of the new owner
but I'll find out tomorrow and post it. Don't know why they bought the
building, although it
was probably to make money. Most businesses try to make money. I have no
doubt they will want rent from AOBA
at the end of the lease. I've never met nor spoken with the new owner. Ana
tried to make a "conspiracy" out
of this...and now you are...very interesting. We have not received anythng
for the space nor have we
asked for anything. This is the story as best I know it because it is
something Jerry did for the membership and I wasn't involved so
if I got something wrong, somewhere, he will have to correct me but I am
99% sure this is all correct.
I would not have mentioned it except that YOU insisted that I tell you
about it. So I have.

So, Heather, you asked me a question that I knew the answer to and I
answered honestly. If
you ask me a question based on something I have said, or something I know,
I'm glad to answer your question. I wish you would do the same.

I again request that before you accuse people of wrong doing, please make
certain that you know
WHAT it is that you are upset about before you accuse and hurt people and
ruin reputations.
