You can find answers to many of your questions by using a search engine
such as Google, or by visiting an alpaca farm, as many members have
suggested. As far as using a search engine to find answers you seek,
there are many many web sites that are full of much more detailed info
than many of us feel compelled to hand-type in response to a pointed
question, that we know is very easy to find the answer to online. I
really suggest using this method of research, and then asking questions
that have not been addressed on the multitude of web pages on the
internet. Here's a wikipedia entry, for starters, this answers many
questions you've asked.
