Re: [AlpacaTalk] New to the list and Market question

hi - I am also very interested in this question - I started my alpaca farm last year and yes, my ultimate goal is to produce superior fibre, but I was under the impression that quality breeding stock would be in demand for a long time yet - if the market is "slipping more towards fibre production" it would be good to know. Thanks to anyone who can provide some information or advice.

Subject: [AlpacaTalk] New to the list and Market question

Hi all,

I am nre to the list and wanted to introduce myself. My hubby and I
are planning on bringing our first alpacas home this spring. Right
now we are preparing the land and learning all we can. One point of
concern however is that we have been reading that the market is
slipping more toward fiber production verses selling breeding stock.
Does this seem to be so? I know it is the eventuality. But we had
thought there was another 20-40 years before it happened. Any
insight is appreciated.

Thanks
