One reason and the reason I joined: There is a $50 fee to enter shows
if you are not a Show Division member. I think that's per show, not per
animal, but at just 3 shows, your $75 associate membership plus your
$50 Show Division fee will more than make up that cost.

Word is still out on whether or not Alpacas Magazine will be included
in memberships, but if they do decide to continue the subscription as a
membership benefit, that is another reason to cough up the $125.

Another reason would be your ability to vote on important issues like
the breed standard currently causing a big stink, and BOD, etc.
Actually I'm not sure if associate members can vote, perhaps not. But
again my reason to join was so that I wouldn't have to pay the $50 show
division surcharge per show.
