Because I guess I'm just not smart enough to see how ethics
violations, and the future of our alpaca industry is the same thing
as politics.
As I pointed out, ALSA makes clear that "Judges must at all times
exhibit the highest standard of integrity and professionalism." In
an editorial, "Llama Life II" wrote:
"Being a judge, being on the board of a registry, being a
veterinarian, being a breeder of influence -- these all carry heavy
burdens of responsibility. Breaking those trusts should carry an
equally heavy penalty if the industry expects to be taken seriously."
I am disappointed that AOBA doesn't require the same standard of
integrity, but perhaps if enough people were concerned that could
change.
