[Alpacasite] Re: Discouraged

Wendy,

Hang in there, it does get better. The single life
has its rewards, one of which is to be able to grow
and express who YOU truly are.

My ex got the lake house, but I ended up with a modest
farm that allows me to keep a breeding and working
herd of llamas and alpacas.

If you have to sell, consider the experience of my
friends who doubled their investment on their farm in
rural Virginia in less than 3 years. You may still be
able to keep your animals but move to a smaller, more
manageable place. If you are not tied to DC for
employment, consider moving to the southern
Appalacians. Cost of living is much lower in western
NC, north GA and east TN, we have an active camelid
community, and like WV, the region has beautiful
scenery. The weather is also more moderate in the
winter and not overly hot in the summer.

Also, if he is "at fault" in the divorce, you may be
able to end up with more of the assets. Your best
investment right now is the best family law attorney
that you can afford.

Hugs at ya,

Susan
