[Alpacasite] Re: Detecting Genetic Collagen Ear Defect

Thanks Chris. Yes, that is a great site. Got lost there for a few days last week. Didn't
realize that so many researchers were looking at mitochondrial DNA trying to
determine the origins of South American camelids. Did some searching again last night,
but found nothing on this particular subject.

I have heard that some judges are looking for this in the show ring. Any judges out there
willing to talk about the characteristics they examine - specifically if it is possible to detect
a mild expression of this defect?

Best Regards,
