[Alpacasite] Re: ARI fees

Steamed puts it nicely! I've been going rounds with ARI over a dam
that was tested ONE year ago and they now say not enough markers are
there to register her cria. I refused to accept that I need to pay
to have her retested (and her cria as well, if I want good results)
and asked that the ARI Board address this at their meeting. Darby
advised me today that "It is not ARI's fault" and that I can pay the
retesting fee or not register the cria. Grrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!
Makes me wonder how often this will come up with the "new
technology" now in place and the need to have more DNA markers
match. Needless to say, I'm furious. I told them I'd give them
time to discuss it at the meeting, then I would advise other
breeders what they can expect. If anyone has a resolution to this,
please let us all know!
As an aside, I received a bill for my *2005 membership* and another
bill for 2 registrations that had been paid by others. Watch your
bills coming in folks. All of mine had been paid the "the records
are being adjusted." Don't assume just because you get a bill that
you owe them more money. Grrrrr.
