Re: [Alpacasite] Sending blood samples
I order the small foam boxes from Useful Lama Items ($2.50 each). I wrap
each sample in a paper towel and then wrap bubble wrap around all the
samples (I try to send several at a time). I place that with an ice pack
(my feed store gives me these, they get them with vaccines they sell) and
my check and form (in a plastic zip-loc bag) into the foam box and I tape
the box shut.
This size foam box fits perfectly into one of those large Tyvek Priority
Mail envelopes that the post office provides. If the vet is here on
Thursday or Friday, I keep the samples refrigerated until Monday and mail
them then, especially in the summer time.
Since I am shipping this to Michigan, it usually arrives in 2 days and M & M
is very fast at getting the results back, often the day they receive the
samples.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
